PITTSFORD, NY - The RIT volleyball team made it two straight in Empire 8 play and improved to 15-7 in 2006 after a hard fought, four-game win over St. John Fisher at the Manning Napier Varsity Gym on Tuesday evening.
The Tigers won the first game 30-28 before losing game two 30-26. RIT then rebounded and won the final two games 30-27, 30-24.
Junior captain Cecilia Enestrom (Medicine Hat, AB/McCoy) (Medicine Hat, AB/McCoy) tallied a career-high 23 kills to go along with 19 digs and five service aces. Chrissy Rowinski (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) also recorded 19 digs.
Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) (Wellington, OH/Keystone) tallied 13 kills and 13 digs, while Shea Haney (Newark, DE/St. Elizabeth) (Newark, DE/St. Elizabeth) had 10 kills.
Sophomore Nichole Boxler (Varysburg, NY/Attica) (Varysburg, NY/Attica) had 35 assists, while Kelly Wohlhagen (Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) (Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) chipped in with 20 helpers.
RIT is back in action on Friday and Saturday, as they compete in the NYU Invitational.
