ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women’s soccer team finished their regular season on a cold and windy afternoon at RIT Field. The Tigers fell to SUNY Fredonia 1-0 and dropped to 7-7-3 on the season. Fredonia improves to 10-7-1.

Neither team scored in the first half. RIT’s best chance came with about 15 minutes to play in the half. Krystal Adriaansen (Marion, NY/Marion) (Marion, NY/Marion) took a free kick from 20 yards out that just went over the cross bar.

RIT fired four total shots and two on goal, while Fredonia had three shots on goal. Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH/Canfield) made three first-half saves for the Tigers.

Fredonia struck early in the second half on a goal by Meredith Blackman. The chance occurred on a miscue by the RIT midfield. Blackman broke in on Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) and beat her with a low shot that found the bottom right corner.

RIT will host Utica College on Thursday, November 2 in one semifinal of the Empire 8 Tournament. That game will get under way at 2 pm on RIT Field.
