Men's Soccer Ties Nazareth

PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season on Wednesday at arch rival Nazareth College. The Tigers played to a 0-0 tie with the Golden Flyers finishing the season with a 7-6-2 overall record and a 5-0-1 record in the Empire 8.

The Tigers will host one semifinal game in next week's Empire 8 Tournament. That game will take place on Wednesday, November 1 at a time to be determined.

Nazareth had controlled much of the play in the first half, outshooting RIT 10-4. Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) stopped six shots in the first period, keeping the game scoreless.

RIT was able to generate some scoring chances in the second half and the first overtime but were unable to get a ball past Nazareth keeper Alex Kilroy.

The Tigers were outshot by Nazareth 14-8 for the game as Smith finished with eight saves.
