ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT volleyball team (22-11, 7-0 Empire 8) had its four-match winning streak snapped by the red-hot SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles 3-0 on Tuesday evening in the final regular season home match for the Tigers.

RIT jumped out to leads in all three games, but the Golden Eagles proved to be too much, winning 30-23, 30-26, 30-24.

Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) (Wellington, OH/Keystone) led RIT with 14 digs and 10 kills. Shea Haney (Newark, DE/St. Elizabeth) (Newark, DE/St. Elizabeth) and Cecilia Enestrom (Medicine Hat, AB/McCoy) (Medicine Hat, Alberta/McCoy) both chipped in with 10 kills. Michelle Skowzgird (Grayslake, IL/John Hersey) (Grayslake, IL/John Hersey) had six blocks, while setter Nichole Boxler (Varysburg, NY/Attica) (Varysburg, NY/Attica) had 19 assists.

Setter Kaylen Fessette led the Golden Eagles with 39 assists. Katie Feldmann recorded 12 digs and 11 kills, while Shae Gilmore also slammed 10 kills for the Golden Eagles, who have won 12 straight matches and 21 of their last 22 overall to improve to 25-7. SUNY Brockport is ranked second in the state.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, as they travel to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY to compete in the NYSWCAA Championships. RIT, seeded #6 will play #11 SUNY Oneonta in a first round match at 12 p.m. If the Tigers win, they will move on to face #3 Ithaca in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m.
