PITTSFORD, NY - The RIT volleyball team (14-7, 1-0 Empire 8) finished 1-1 at the Nazareth College tri-match meet on Saturday, losing to Capital and defeating the hosts.
The Tigers fell to Capital 11-30, 31-33, 26-30 in the opening match.
In the final match of the day, RIT rebounded to defeat Nazareth 30-27, 28-30, 30-27, 35-33. Sophomore Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) (Wellington, OH/Keystone) led RIT with 15 kills. Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) recorded 11 kills, three aces and one block. Christine Rowinski (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) chipped in with 15 digs and 12 kills in the victory.
RIT is back in action on Tuesday, as they travel to Empire 8 rival St. John Fisher to play the Cardinals at 7 p.m.
