ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT Women's Volleyball team improved to 12-2 in 2005 and won its third match in a row by defeating Genesee River rival University of Rochester 30-18, 30-16, 30-26 at the Clark Gym on Tuesday evening.
Senior Laurie Underhill (East Aurora, NY/Mt. Mercy) (East Aurora, NY/Mt. Mercy) led the Tigers with 14 kills and four blocks while hitting .409 on the evening.
Tahlia Miller (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) (Southampton, NY/East Hampton) hit .375 with eight kills and three blocks. Christina Anabel (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) hit .429 with seven kills ans seven digs.
Senior Katie Werner (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) dished out 40 assists, while Laura Grell (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) led RIT with 11 digs.
RIT hit .296 in the win.
Rochester falls to 10-5 on the season.
RIT is back in action this weekend, as they travel to Pittsburgh, PA to participate in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
