Rochester, NY-- The RIT women's tennis team hosted the Saint John Fisher Cardinals this afternoon. The Tigers beat the Cardinals 7-2 which improves their record to 2-2 and Saint John Fisher is now 3-2.

In doubles, second doubles team of Leigh Bryson (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan) (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan) and Melanie Blass (Bridgeport, NY/Chittenango) (Bridgeport, NY/Chittenango) won their match 8-6. Third doubles team of Aimee Holmberg (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug) (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug) and Michelle Nicholson (Grove City, PA/Grove City) (Grove City, Pa/Grove City) won their match 8-5.

In singles, freshman Brianne Fracisco (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) shut out her opponent 6-0, 6-0. Seniors Lindsey Brady (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) and Rachel Pikus (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Seminary) (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Seminary) won their matches at second and fifth respectively. Bryson and Nicholson also pulled out wins for the team.

The women have another home match this Saturday at 1 pm against Oswego.
