POTSDAM, NY -
First-year forward Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) (Acton, MA/Acton Boxborough) scored first two collegiate goals and chipped in with an assist, as the RIT Women's Soccer team earned their first win of the 2005 season with a 4-1 win over Clarkson University on Saturday.

Traversi struck first in the 29th minute, collecting a rebound from a shot by Alaina Chorney (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) that hit the crossbar and sweeping the ball into the open net.

Just 1:52 later, junior Mallory Frost (Barre, VT/Spaulding) (Barre, VT/Spaulding) scored her first goal of the year, and 12th of her career, chipping in a shot from about 20 feet out past the Clarkson keeper for a 2-0 lead.  Traversi added an assist on the goal.

The score remained 2-0 until the 84th minute, when Traversi struck again, converting a pass from Chorney for a three-goal lead.

Clarkson (1-3) cut the Tiger lead to 3-1 on a goal by Catie Reed, just 36 seconds later, but Anna Kolnik (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) closed out the scoring in the 87th minute, taking a feed from Chorney and ripping a shot into the net for her second goal of the year.

RIT out-shot Clarkson 11-6.  Heather Moe (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert) (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert) made three saves to pick up her first collegiate win.  Megan Emlaw made four saves for Clarkson.  Chorney dished out two assists for RIT.
