Elmira, NY -- The RIT men's tennis team traveled to Elmira this afternoon to play the Elmira Soaring Eagles. The Tigers shut out Elmira 7-0 and improve their record to 4-1. The Soaring Eagles are now 1-5.

In doubles all three teams won. First doubles team of Rod Razavi (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) and Jason Swails (Vestal, NY/Vestal) (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and second doubles team of Frank Salome (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) and Jon New (Pittsburgh, PA/Central Catholic) (Pittsburgh, Pa/Central Catholic) both won their matches 8-3. Third doubles team of Joe Schember (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) (Erie, Pa/Mercyhurst Prep) and Nathaniel Benz (Chicago, IL/North Miami) (Chicago, IL/North Miami) won their match 8-6.

In singles, the line up for the day was Swails, Salome, Zak Blazic (Wyncote, PA/Cheltenham) (Wyncote, PA/Cheltenham), New, Razavi, and Adam DePuit (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius). All six men contributed to the Tigers shut out.

The Tigers have a home match tomorrow afternoon. They will be hosting St. Lawrence at 1:00 pm.
