ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT Softball team (13-11, 6-0 Empire 8) had its six-game winning streak snapped on Saturday, as the fell to Union College 1-0 and 3-2 at RIT Field.
In game one, Union scored the only run of the game in the top of the seventh inning. Allie Sitton (Baltimore, MD/The Park School) (Baltimore, MD/The Park School) allowed just one run and three hits in seven innings, while striking out six.
Josa Hanzlik (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) collected two hits for RIT.
In game two, Allison Ingalls (Cuba, NY/Cuba-Rushford) (Cuba, NY/Cuba-Rushford) finished 2-for-3 with a run batted in. Caitlin Krumm (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) drove in a run with double in the sixth inning to cut Union's lead to 3-2. Breana Sniezek (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) had two hits.
Mary Keegan (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) allowed just four hits and struck out six in falling to 5-5 on the season.
Union improves to 20-4 on the season.
RIT is back in action on Sunday, as they host Skidmore in a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
