Oswego, NY -- The RIT men's tennis team traveled to Oswego this afternoon to play the Lakers. The Tigers defeated the Lakers 6-1 and have won 7 matches in a row. Their record is now 7-1.
The Tigers swept the doubles matches with wins from all three teams. First doubles team of Rod Razavi (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) and Jason Swails (Vestal, NY/Vestal) (Vestal, NY/Vestal) won by a score of 8-2. Second doubles team of Frank Solome (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) and Jon New (Pittsburgh, PA/Central Catholic) (Pittsburgh, Pa/Central Catholic) defeated their opponents 8-4. And third doubles team of Joe Schember (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) (Erie, Pa/Mercyhurst Prep) and Nathaniel Benz (Chicago, IL/North Miami) (Chicago, IL/North Miami) won 8-6.
In singles, Solome, New, Razavi, and Jordan Bell (Newton, PA/George School) (Newton, PA/George School) all contributed to the win. Also, freshman Zak Blazic (Wyncote, PA/Cheltenham) (Wyncote, PA/Cheltenham) won his match at 3rd singles which makes it his 7th straight win for the season.
The Tigers next match is at home on Sunday. The match begins at 1:00 and the Tigers will be playing Alfred.
