ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (13-9) softball team swept a pair of games against Keuka College (2-8) on Friday afternoon. In game #1 the Tigers shutout Keuka, 2-0. RIT won game #2 7-5.

In game #1 RIT got a run in the third when Megan VarnerApalachin, NY/Owego Free Acad.) singled home Katie Grenga (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) (Syracuse, NY/CBA), giving RIT a 1-0 lead.

The Tigers made it 2-0 in the fourth on a RBI double by Gretchen Goodhue (Sanford, ME/Sanford) (Sanford, ME/Sanford), scoring Josa Hanzlik (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport).

That would be more than enough for Allie Sitton (Baltimore, MD/The Park School) (Baltimore, MD/The Park School) who went five innings, allowing no runs, one hit and striking out 12 batters as she picked up her sixth win of the season.

In game #2 RIT trailed 3-2 in the fourth inning, before plating four runs. They added a run in the fifth and held on for the 7-5 win.

Breana Sniezek (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) and Megan Varner (Apalachin, NY/Owego Free) each had an RBI in the fourth. The Storm's defense helped out committing an error that led to two unearned runs.

Amanda Morehouse (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy) (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Acad.) picked up her second win of the season. She went five innings, allowing four runs on five hits.

Mary Keegan (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) came in in the sixth and allowed no runs or hits over the final two innings, picking up her second save of the day.

Caitlin Krumm (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) (Buffalo, NY/Williamsvlle North) and Josa Hanzlik (Fairport, NY/Fairport) each had a pair of hits for RIT. Hanzlik drove in two runs as the Tigers pounded out nine hits.
