Rochester, NY -- The RIT men’s tennis team continue their winning streak by defeating Roberts Wesleyan 7-2. The Tigers increase their record to 6-1.
In the doubles action, 2nd doubles team of seniors Frank Solome (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) and Jon New (Pittsburgh, PA/Central Catholic) (Pittsburgh, Pa/Central Catholic) and 3rd doubles team of first year players Joe Schember (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) (Erie, Pa/Mercyhurst Prep) and Nathaniel Benz (Chicago, IL/North Miami) (Chicago, IL/North Miami) added two points to the team’s score. Because Roberts is in a different conference than the Tigers, every match counts as a point.
In singles, Solome, Zak Blazic (Wyncote, PA/Cheltenham) (Wyncote, PA/Cheltenham), New, Rod Razavi (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day), and Adam DePuit (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) all racked up a point for the win.
The Tigers next match is Friday, April 15th at Oswego. The match begins at 4 pm. The next home match is on Sunday, the 17th against Alfred at 1 pm.
