ROCHESTER, NY - Junior hurler Bo Mahaney (Burdett, NY/Watkins Glen) (Burdett, NY/Watkins Glen) pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout in game one and senior outfielder Scott Schneider (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two, leading RIT to a doubleheader sweep over Keuka College at the RIT Field on Tuesday.

Mahaney was tremendous on the mound in game one for RIT (11-4, 3-0 Empire 8), striking out a career-best 10 hitters.  He allowed just two singles, and did not allow a runner past second base, as Mahaney earned his second win of the year.

The RIT offense scored two runs in the second inning, and three runs in the third to take a commanding 5-0 lead.  Rob Ogborne (Rochester, NY/Penfield) (Penfield, NY/Penfield) and Brian Lindenau (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) hit RBI singles in the second inning, and Ogborne delivered the big blow, a bases-clearing triple in the third inning.

Mark Sapienza (Avon, NY/Avon) (Avon, NY/Avon) and Colin Bradley (Barre, VT/Spaulding) (Barre, VT/Spaulding) each finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

In game two, RIT let a 3-1 lead slip away, before coming back from a 4-3 sixth inning defecit en route to their fifth straight win on the year.

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Schneider led off the inning with a double to left field.  After Sapienza laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Schneider to third, Ogborne came through once again, ripping a double down the left field line to tie the game 4.

After reliever Drew Olek (Fairport, NY/Fairport) shut down the Storm in the top of the seventh inning, RIT came to bat in their half, determined to get the win.

Lindenau led off the inning with a walked and then adavnced to second after a single by Matt Singer (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima).  After a double play and a walk, Schneider took a 2-1 pitch and blooped it into right centerfield, driving in Lindenau with the game-winning run.

Olek got the win for RIT, allowing a hit in one inning of work.  Pat Walters (Rochester, NY/Webster) (Webster, NY/Webster) pitched five solid innings, aloowing six hits and two earned runs.  First-year hurler Jeremy Tosh (Woodbine, MD/) (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) came into the game with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth inning, and pitched out of trouble, allowing just a sacrifice fly.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, as they travel to conference rival Ithaca to play the Bombers in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
