Men's Lacrosse Loses to Eastern Connecitcut State, 12-11 in Overtime

MADISON, NJ -- The RIT men's lacrosse team began the 2005 season with a 12-11 overtime loss to Eastern Connecticut State at Drew University. The Tigers (0-1) came into the game ranked 13th in the latest Divion III poll.

RIT trailed 11-9 late in the fourth quarter when Joe Argese (Jordan, NY/Jordan-Elbridge)'s (Jordon, NY/Jordon-Elbridge) goal on an assist from David Thering (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) pulled the Tigers to within one at 11-10.

Junior midfielder Colin Jesien (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-S. Dorchester) (Cambridge, MD) tied the score at 11-11 with  his unassisted goal with 1:51 to play in the fourth quarter.

RIT won the opening faceoff in overtime and freshman attack Andrew Ruocco (Corning, NY/Corning East) (Corning, NY/Corning East) had a shot on net but the Eastern Connecticut keeper made the save.

The Warriros came down the field off the save and scored the game-winner.

RIT faces Clarkson University on March 9 to be played at Liverpool High School
