Click For BoxscoreROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (16-7, 10-2 Empire 8) men's basketball team won their fourth straight game with a 66-50 win over Hartwick College (2-20, 0-11 Empire 8) on Senior Day at Clark Gymnasium.
RIT shot vey well from the floor in the first half, hitting 50% of their shots, including 6-of-14 from three point land. The Tiger's defense held Hartwick to 36.4% shooting in the first half and forced the Hawks into 10 turnovers en route to a 39-18 lead at intermission.
Reggie Shore (Amityville, NY/Amityville) (Amityville, NY/Amityville) led RIT with eight first-half points on 3-of-4 shooting.
Fran Snyder (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon St. Jude) (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon St. Jude) added seven points and dished out two assists.
Hartwick made a comeback in the second cutting the Tiger's lead to 55-47 on a pair of free throws by Sterling Green, capping off a 26-11 run by the Hawks.
After a timeout RIT turned up the defensive pressure and made a couple of baskets to get the lead back up to double figures as they went on to the 66-50 win.
Reggie Shore (Amityville, NY/Amityville) paced RIT with 12 points and two assists.
Fran Snyder (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon St. Jude) added 10 points and three assists.
For RIT it's their ninth win in their last 10 games and fourth in a row. The Tigers will face Elmira College this coming Friday at 8 p.m. in Elmira, New York.
