ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's hockey team dropped their third straight game with a 4-1 loss to Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday evening. The Chargers dominated all facets of the game, out shooting RIT 39-29. The loss drops RIT to 3-5-0 on the season, while Alabama-Huntsville improves to 2-2-0.

“We didn't win any of the one-on-one battles,” said RIT Head Coach Wayne Wilson. “They wanted it more than we did tonight.”

Alabama-Huntsville dominated the play in the first period, out-shooting RIT 21-7. The Chargers took a 1-0 lead at 5:28 on a goal by Chris Martini. Todd Bentley took a shot that Jocelyn Guimond (St.-Edouard-de-Lotbiniere, PQ/Williams Lake) (Quebec City, PQ) saved. However, the rebound came right to Martini who poked it home.

“They play a straight forward game,” said RIT Head Coach Wayne Wilson. “They aren't flashy, but they are very effective.”

The Chargers took a 2-0 lead on a nice individual effort by David Nimmo. He blocked a shot by RIT's Bobby Raymond (Lucknow, ON/Owen Sound Greys) (Lucknow, ON) and stormed down the ice, breaking in on Guimond. Nimmo muscled past Raymond and put a shot through Guimond's legs for a 2-0 lead.

RIT answered back at 18:38 of the first. Simon Lambert (Ste.-Therese, PQ/Cumberland Grads) (Ste.-Therese, PQ) hammered a shot on Marc Narduzzi who made the save. The rebound came right to Darrell Draper (Tigard, OR/Cowichon Capitals) (Tigard, OR), who was crashing the net. He chipped a shot over Narduzzi's shoulder, cutting the Chargers lead, to 2-1.

Alabama-Huntsville tallied the only goal of the second period on a 5-on-3 power play. The Chargers moved Guimond around with pinpoint passing and converted when Shan Arvai passed to Matt Sweazy who fed David Nimmo on a tic-tac-toe play. It was Nimmo's second tally of the contest and increased Alabama-Huntsvilles's lead to 3-1.

David Nimmo completed the hat trick in the third period at 6:47. He went between the legs of several RIT defenders on a series of sweet moves. He then deked Guimond for his third goal of the game, making it 4-1.

Jocelyn Guimond (St.-Edouard-de-Lotbiniere, PQ/Williams Lake) made 35 saves in net for the Tigers, while Marc Narduzzi made 28 saves for the Chargers.

RIT hits the road next weekend when they face Robert Morris University. The Tigers face the Colonials on Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13. Saturday's game get's under way at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday's game starts at 5:30.
