Women's Soccer Plays St. John Fisher to Scoreless Draw

PITTSFORD, NY -
The RIT Women's Soccer team (3-7-1, 1-2-1 Empire 8)extended its unbeaten streak to two games after playing St. John Fisher (2-6-1, 1-2-1 Empire 8) to a scoreless draw on Wednesday evening at Growney Stadium.

RIT out-shot St. John Fisher 5-4 in the first half, while the Cardinals stormed back with seven second half shots. St. John Fisher out-shot RIT 12-9 for the game. RIT recorded seven corner kicks to the Cardinals four.

Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) and Alaina Chorney (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) each had two shots on goal for the Tigers.

Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH/Canfield) played all 110 minutes, stopping five shots in recording her first collegiate shutout. Stacey Gable made seven saves for St. John Fisher.

RIT is back in action on Saturday, as they travel to play Empire 8 rival Elmira College at 12 p.m.
