Men's Basketball Downs Alfred in Empire 8 Opener

ALFRED, NY — The RIT (5-4, 1-0 E8) men’s basketball team defeated Empire 8 foe Alfred University (5-6, 0-1 E8), 78-51, Friday evening in their Empire 8 Conference opener.

The Tigers shot 48 percent from the floor led by senior Kyle Goff (Manassas, VA/Stonewall Jackson) (Manassas, VA/Stonewall Jackson) who had 18 points.

Sean Murphy (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North), turned in another solid performance tallying 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Senior center Jesse Foote (Lockwood, NY/Spencer-Van Ettan) (Lockwood, NY/Spencer-Van Ettan) finished the game with 13 points.

The Tigers will face St. John Fisher College tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
