ROCHESTER, NY - Senior Kate Cassim (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) scored two first half goals to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 win over Clarkson University at RIT Field on Saturday afternoon.

Cassim opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, coverting on a pass from Alaina Chorney (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) in front of the Golden Knights net.  Just 1:33 later, Mallory Frost (Barre, VT/Spaulding)  (Barre, VT/Spaulding)sent Cassim in on a breakaway.  Cassim hooked a shot just inside the right goal post for her third goal of the season, giving RIT a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.

RIT made it 3-0 in the 54th minute when freshman Anna Kolnik (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) stole the ball from a Clarkson defender and came in alone on a breakaway.  Kolnik buried the shot past the Clarkson goalkeeper for her first career goal.

Senior Carrie Yehle (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and freshman Dinah Redhouse (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey) (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey) combined to make five saves for RIT's first shut-out of the year.  Redhouse was especially sharp in the final 10 minutes, stopping Clarkson's top scorer, Jennifer Urquhart, on two breakways.

The Tigers out-shot Clarkson 18-8 en route to their second win of the 2004 season.

RIT (2-2) hosts Hamilton at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at RIT Field.
