BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The RIT baseball team was held to three hits by four SUNY Brockport pitchers as the Golden Eagles defeated the Tigers 3-0 this afternoon at the Clark V. Whited Complex Thursday.
Colin Bradley (Barre, VT/Spaulding High School) (Barre, VT) had two of RIT's three hits. Starter Daniel Philipp (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) (Rochester) turned in a solid performance but took the loss for RIT. He allowed seven hits and two earned runs while striking out five in 7 2/3 innings.
Brockport starter Ben Kimball allowed the three hits in four innings while striking out five, and the bullpen of Jeff Wilson, Jason Waite and Shawn Mahoney combined to allow just one walk while striking out four in five hitless innings. Wilson improved to 2-1 while Mahoney picked up his first save.
The Tigers resume Empire 8 play this weekend. On Friday the Tigers travel to Hartwick College for a double header. Saturday RIT visits Utica College for a double header.
