ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (9-10, 5-3 E8) baseball team dropped a pair of games to Ithaca College (21-5, 4-0 E8) this afternoon at RIT Field. RIT lost game #1 9-6 and dropped game #2 5-3.

In game #1 Ithaca scored five runs in the second, two in the third and two in the fifth. RIT rallied with two runs in the fourth and three in the sixth but could not get any closer. John Byrne (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) (East Amherst, NY)led RIT with two hits in game #1. He went 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Dan Phillipp (Rochester, NY) the start for RIT, lasting just two innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits. Bo Mahanney (Burdett, NY) and Ian Ammons (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Farport, NY) went the rest of the way for RIT, allowng three runs.

In game #2 RIT took a 1-0 lead with a run in the second. Ithaca answered with three runs in the third but RIT tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the third. Ithaca regained the lead for good with two runs in the top of the fourth. Jamie Schild (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY) went 4-4, while Colin Bradley (Barre, VT/Spaulding High School) (Barre, VT) went 2-4. John Byrne (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) went 2-3 with a runs scored. Dan Weglinski (Hyde Park, NY/F D Roosevelt) (Hyde Park, NY) got the start for RIT. He went five innings allowing five runs on five hits. He struck out five and walked three.

RIT travels to Medaille College on Sunday for a double header beginning at 1 p.m.
