ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's tennis team began competition on Saturday in the 2004 Empire 8 Championships. In their opening round match the Tigers defeated Hartwick College, 8-1 advancing on to the second round where they will face Ithaca College.

RIT swept all three doubles matches led by the team of Jenn Hume and Leigh Bryson (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan) at #1 doubles. In singles RIT dropped just one match en route to a convincing win.
