Women's Soccer Unbeaten Streak Snapped in Loss to Ithaca

ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT Women's Soccer team had its season high four game unbeaten streak snapped by Empire 8 rival Ithaca College this afternoon.  The Bombers won the game by a score of 1-0. 

Freshman Jaclyn Brisson scored the game's lone goal in the 30th minute, out-racing two RIT defenders for a loose ball and slipping a shot just inside the left goal post.

Ithaca (9-1-1, 4-0-1) out-shot RIT 16-3.  The Bombers clinched a spot in the Empire 8 post-season tournament with the victory.

Freshman Aimee Meacham made three saves to help the Bombers record their ninth shutout of 2004.  Senior Carrie Yehle (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) (Clifton Park, NY/Shenedahowa) made seven saves in the loss for RIT.  Her best save of the game came with a little over five minutes left in regulation, when she made a diving stop on a shot from Lindsay Ehrenkrantz to keep the score 1-0.

RIT (4-6-2, 1-2-2 Empire 8) returns to action on Tuesday, as they travel to William Smith College at 4 p.m.
