Men's Soccer Loses to Ithaca in Final Minutes

ITHACA, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team was defeated by Ithaca College, 1-0 this afternoon at Ithaca. The loss drops the Tigers record to 5-5-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the Empire 8. The Bombers improve to 7-2-1 overall and 3-0-0 in the Empire 8.

In a scoreless first half RIT mustered just one shot. RIT keeper Nate Andrews (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) (Rochester, NY/ Greece Arcadia) made four saves in net as Ithaca outshot RIT 7-1 in the first half.

RIT mustered a little more offense in the second half, firing four shots on goal from George Chavez (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott), Mike Lawson, Gavin Thomas (Ontario, NY/Wayne Central) and Abe Zwirn (Berwick, ME/Noble). However, Ithaca goalie Ted Meyer kept the Tigers off the board.

With just over five minutes to play the Bombers  got a goal from Chris Holden on an assist from Mike Orpin to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead.

RIT was unable to get the equalizer suffering their third straight loss and are winless in their last four games.
