ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (4-5-2) won their second straight and remained unbeaten in three straight games with a 4-0 win over Potsdam State (1-9-1) on a cold and rainy afternoon on RIT Field. Kate Cassim (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) (Waterloo, NY/ Waterloo) and Anna Kolnik (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) (Sharon, WI/ Big Foot) led the Tigers with a pair of goals apiece.

RIT dominated play right from the opening whistle as they fired five shots on goal in the first five minutes of action.

Cassim got the Tigers on the board in the 14th minute. Alyssa Bennett (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) (Rochester, NY/ Irondequoit) slid a pass to Cassim. She gathered the ball and rifled a shot past Potsdam goalie Jordan Havens (Ogdensburg, NY) giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Cassim gave RIT a 2-0 lead in the 28th minute. Alaina Chorney (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) (Manalapan, NJ/ Manalapan) crossed the ball into the penalty area which Cassim controlled and scored her second goal of the game.

RIT outshot the Bears in the first half 11-3.

The second half started much the same way as the first for the Tigers. Alaina Chorney (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) took a shot from inside the penalty area that Kolnik ran onto and one-timed it passed Havens for a 3-0 RIT lead.

Kolnik struck again less than a minute later when she out ran the entire Potsdam defense for her second goal of the game.

RIT's defense was outstanding as they held Potsdam to three total shots and one on goal.

RIT travels to Alfred on Tuesday for an Empire 8 contest at 7 p.m.
