UTICA, NY -- Utica College's Ricky Adames nailed a three-pointer with 9.7 seconds to play in regulation, breaking a 60-60 tie, giving the Pioneers a 63-60 win over RIT on Friday night. The loss drops RIT to 10-7 overall and 5-1 in the Empire 8.
RIT led throughout most of the game, including a 31-29 haltime lead. The Pioneers did not take their first lead until Adames hit the three-pointer late in the contest. The Tigers shot 45.1 percent in the first half and 47.8 percent for the game.
RIT featured three players in double figures in scoring led by Kyle Goff (Manassas, VA) who had 19 points and seven rebounds. Fran Snyder (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon St. Jude) (Buffalo, NY) added 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sean Murphy (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) (Buffalo, NY) added 12 points and seven rebounds.
RIT will look to rebound on Saturday when they face Hartwick College at 4 p.m. in Oneonta, New York.
