Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to William Smith

ROCHESTER, NY-The RIT women's swimming and diving team took on the Herons of William Smith College tonight at Edith Woodward Memorial Pool, losing a hard-fought meet 130-112.

Strong performances were turned in by several swimmers tonight, including Daniela Palacio (Floreanopolis, Brazil/), Sarah Keesler (Endicott, NY/) and Jen Indovina. Palacio (Floreanopolis, Brazil) took the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:04.07 and the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:41.75, while Keesler (Endicott, NY) won the 200 Individual Medley and 200 Breaststroke with times of 2:23.27 and 2:38.33, respectively. Indovina (Rochester, NY) posted the top time in the 100 Freestyle and placed third in the 200 Freestyle. Also posting solid times for the Tigers were Kate Stowers (Reno, NV/) (Reno, NV) with a 12:02.29 second place time in the 1,000 Freestyle and Jamie Garver (Trenton, ME/) (Trenton, ME), who finished second in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:23.09. On the one-meter board, Mickenzie Peebles (Lowville, NJ/) (Lowville, NJ) placed second with a score of 215.80 and Gretchen Anderson (Coopersburg, PA/) (Coopersburg, PA) placed third on the three meter board with a score of 169.96.

The women's team will ttravel to take on Brockport next, on Wednesday, January 28 at 6 p.m.
