FREDONIA, NY -- The 11th ranked men's hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie at Fredonia State ona snowy evening in Fredonia.

Fredonia took a 1-0 lead at the 3:55 mark of the first when Ben Teft scored a power play goal on assists from Wil Barlow and Mike Fleming. Less than a minute later Kyle Bozaian made it 2-0 Fredonia with his even strength goal.

RIT pulled to within a goal at the 2:58 mark of the second when Brian Payant (Antioch, IL/Fairfield University) tallied a power play goal with assists going to Craig Hupp (Houston, TX/Shattuck-St. Marys) and Dennis Han. Late in the second Michael Tucciarone (Richmond Hill, Ont./Stouffville Spirit) tied the score at 2-2 on assists from Jason Chafe (Stoney Creek, Ont./Burlington Cougars) and Mike Tarantino (Oakville, Ont./Oakville Blades).

The Tigers took their first lead of the game just 23 seconds into the third. Rob Tarantino (Oakville, Ont./Oakville Blades) skated in on Fredonia goalie Simon Maignan and roofed a shot that just went underneath the cross-bar, giving RIT a 3-2 lead. That lead didn't last however, as Fredonia answered back with the game-tying goal by Kyle Bozoian at 7:19. Wil Barlow assisted on the play.

Both teams had their chances the remainder of the third and in the overtime session but both goalies were sharp as the game ended 3-3.

RIT outshot Fredonia 33-24 as George Eliopoulos (Markham, Ont./St. Michaels Buzzers) stopped 21 shots. The Tigers were 1-6 on the power play and stopped Fredonia on seven of eight power plays.

RIT falls to 9-4-3 on the season and will host Geneseo State on Friday night, January, 23 at 7 p.m.
