Despite some strong results for individual members of the RIT swimming and diving team they could not achieve victory against Nazareth, loosing 141-95. In the women's 1000-yard freestyle event junior Brooke Chornyak (Ellsworth, ME/) earned victory with a final time of 11:35.31. Her time was over four seconds faster than the second place finisher from Nazareth. Later in the meet Chornyak also was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:41.49. Jennifer Indovina (Rochester, NY/) of RIT placed first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.05. She just barely out touched Melanie Gorenflo of Nazareth who finished in a time of 27.22. Indovina also finished first in the 100-yard freestyle event. Kate Stowers (Reno, NV/) placed second in the 200-yard IM event in 2:28.05, while teammate Brittany Kitzke (Knoxville, TN/) finished in fourth position. Stowers also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly event. RIT placed second and third in the 1-meter diving event, with Mickenzie Pebbles finishing with 213.90 points, and Rebecca Light had 194.77 points. Light placed second in the 3-meter diving event with 188.02 points. Finishing third in that event was Alexis Newman (Hamlin, NY/) of RIT. To finish out the event the Tigers were victorious in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Members of that relay were Indovina, Stowers, Chornyak, and Christy Burcham (Victor, NY/).
