RIT men's swimming and diving had their closest meet of the season tonight against LeMoyne college.
Peter Kaemmerlen (Fairport, N.Y./) shattered two Le Moyne pool records to help propel the Tigers to victory 159-141.
Kaemmerlen started off the meet breaking the 500 yard freestyle record in a time of 4:50.91. This is also his best time on the season. Later in the meet Kaemmerlen finished the 400 yard IM in a time of 4:18.80, which was another Le Moyne pool record and once again his best time on the season.
The turning point of the meet came when RIT swimmer Matt McGill (Cranberry, PA/) came from behind in the 200 yard butterfly to capture the victory in a time of 2:12.74.
Divers Pat Graham (East Grand Rapids, MI/) and Ryan Schaefer (N. Tonawanda, N.Y./) both broke pool record. In the 1st diving event, in which each diver had 5 dives at the 1-meter diving board Graham finished with 189.525 points, while Schaefer finished in a close second with 182.925. In the 2nd diving event in which each diver had 6 dives, Graham finished with 279.75 points while Shaefer finished with 260.475.
Other victors for the Tigers included Tyler Morrison (Hartford, Conn./) in the 50 backstroke, and Erik Zelbacher (Victor, N.Y./) in the 100 free also in the 50 fly.
The Tigers will hold their final home meet on February 8 at 1p.m. agaisnt Nazareth.
