BROCKPORT, NY -- The women's volleyball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a thrilling, 3-2 win over Brockport State on Tuesday evening. The Tigers won the match by scores of 31-29, 22-30, 31-29, 24-30, 21-19 and improved their record to 22-14 on the season.

Leading the way for RIT was senior co-captain Missy Groginski (Brewertown, NY/Paul V. Moore) (Brewerton, NY) who had 21 kills and 25 digs. Junior setter Sarah Ballard (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) (Lake View, NY) had 52 assists and 15 digs, while freshman middle hitter Dani Fisher (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum Borough) (Pittsburgh, PA) added nine kills and two blocks. Bonnie Harriman (Danbury, CT/Danbury) had nine kills.

RIT will compete in the 2003 Empire 8 Women's Volleyball championships on Saturday, November 8. The Tigers enter the tournament as the #2 seed and will face #3 Ithaca College at 1:30 p.m. at Nazareth College. These two teams have split their two previous two meetings this year with RIT winning the first and Ithaca winning the second.
