ROCHESTER, NY -- The women's volleyball team won the final two games to defeat Empire 8 rival St. John Fisher College, 3-2 (13-30, 30-23, 27-30, 30-26, 15-6) this evening at Clark Gymnasium. The win improves RIT to 17-11 overall and 2-1 in the Empire 8, while St. John Fisher falls to 13-16 overall and 1-2 in the Empire 8.

On senior night RIT's lone senior Missy Groginski (Brewertown, NY/Paul V. Moore) (Brewerton, NY) led the Tigers with 14 kills and 31 digs. Laurie Underhill (East Aurora, NY/Mercy Academy) (East Aurora, NY) had 20 kills and Dani Fisher (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum Borough) (Pittsburgh, PA) added 12 kills. Junior Sarah Ballard (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) (Lake View, NY) had 59 assists versus Fisher, while Christina Anabel (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) (Apalachin, NY) had eight kills and 14 digs.

RIT will play in an Empire 8 crossover on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26th at Nazareth College.
