Women's Volleyball Split at Ithaca Tournament

ITHACA, NY -- The RIT women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the Ithaca College Invitational. In their first match of the day the Tigers were defeated by NYU, 3-0 (25-30, 17-30, 26-30). RIT rebounded to defeat Widener Unversity, 3-0 (30-25, 30-27, 30-28) in their final match of the day.

Sarah Ballard (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) (Lakeview, NY) tallied 44 assists on Saturday and chipped in 21 digs. Freshman middle hitter Dani Fisher (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum Borough) (Pittsburgh, PA) had 16 kills and Laurie Underhill (East Aurora, NY/Mercy Academy) (E. Aurora, NY) had six service aces.

The Tigers go 2-2 at the Ithaca Tournament and are now 5-2 overall. RIT makes their home debut on Tuesday, September 9 against Geneseo State at 7 p.m.
