Click for BoxscoreROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's soccer team was defeated by the University of Rochester, 3-0 this afternoon on RIT Field. RIT came into the game ranked fifth in New York State, while the Yellowjackets were sixth.
The lone goal came in the first half came in the seventh minute when Rochester's Emily Urbanczyk scored on an assist from Anne McMahon, giving the Yellowjackets a 1-0 lead. The Tigers had very few good scoring chances in the first half, taking six shots to U of R's 11.
Kristin Kelly made it 2-0 Rochester in the 58th minute on an assist from Urbanczyk. Portia Bridges tallied the games final goal two minutes from full time, making it 3-0 Rochester.
Carrie Yehle (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Tigers, making 10 saves. Adrianne Hulchanski made five saves in net for Rochester.
RIT falls to 6-2-0 on the season and will travel to Ithaca College on Saturday, September 27 for an Empire 8 contest with the Bombers. That game gets under way at 12 p.m.
