Click for BoxscorePOTSDAM, NY- The RIT women's soccer team hit the road this weekend to take on the Golden Knights of Clarkson University on Saturday. The lone goal came in double overtime from Moet De La Torre (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) to give the Tigers their sixth win of the season.
RIT created many scoring chances, taking 20 shots overall in the match. Goalkeeper Carrie Yehle (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) faced five shots, making four saves. The score was 0-0 until a corner kick from Brooke Thompson (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake), initially deflected by Clarkson's goalie, was headed in by De La Torre at 107:40 to clinch the win.
RIT improves to 6-1-0 and will face the University of Rochester on Tuesday at 4 pm on RIT Field.
