ROCHESTER, NY- The RIT men's soccer squad took on the Blue Devils of Fredonia State this afternoon on a cold and rain-soaked RIT Field.

The men played a tough, physical game, battling through several injuries during the match. Fredonia scored the lone goal of the game when Matt Mahaffey got the ball past RIT's Matt Klosner (Lowville, NY) as Klosner came out to block the shot in the tenth minute. Klosner made two saves in 90 minutes of work. RIT created several great scoring chances but was unable to capitalize. The best opportunity for the Tigers came with 1:50 left to play when defender Travis Proctor (Livonia, NY) headed a shot over the head of Fredonia's Matt Borchard, but the shot sailed over the net.

The score remained 1-0 in favor of Fredonia as time expired. The Tigers finish their 2003 campaign with a record of 7-9-1 and a mark of 2-4-0 within the Empire 8.
