The first half of play was controlled by St. Lawrence despite the hard play of the Tiger defense. Goalkeeper Nate Andrews (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) saw 13 shots, saving three of those shots. The Saints' Ezequiel Rodrigo got a shot past Andrews in the 24th minute for the first marker of the match.
As the second half opened, St. Lawrence continued to control the ball. They took 17 shots in the half, and found the goal once more off the foot of Ryan O'Dowd in the 57th minute. RIT was able to generate more scoring chances, however, and in the 69th minute, a shot from junior forward George Chambers (Webster, NY/ Erasmus Hall) found its way past the Saints' Jordan James from the top of the box, with help from Steve Rygiel.
RIT was unable to capitalize again as time ran down in the game. When the final horn sounded, the final score read St. Lawrence 2, RIT 1. Goalkeeper Nate Andrews finished the day with 10 saves, and had a solid showing overall. Chambers' goal was the first scored on the Saints all season. The Tigers fall to 2-3-0 on the season and will face the Golden Knights of Clarkson University tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 on RIT Field.
