Men's Soccer Defeated by University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY -- Despite a valiant second half comeback the men's soccer team fell to the University of Rochetster, 3-2 this evening at Fauver Stadium. The loss drops RIT's record to 5-6-1 on the season.

The Yellowjackets put on most of the pressure early, dominating most of the early offensive play. They capitalized in the 42nd minute, when freshman Tyler Green, positioned in front of the goal box, crossed the ball to sophomore Colin Fernie who booted it into the the upper left corner of the net to give the 'Jackets a 1-0 advantage going into halftime.

After the intermission, Rochester scored twice in a two-minute span to seemingly put the game out of reach for the Tigers.

The Tigers dominated much of the play the rest of the game, not allowing much offensive pressure by Rochester the rest of the way. Chris Mbaakanyi got RIT on the board at 63:21, cutting Rochester's lead to 3-1. Trae Lower scored at 68:04, making it 3-2. However the Tigers were unable to get the equalizer as the Yellowjackets held on for the 3-2 win.

Matt Klosner got the start in goal for RIT, making three saves.
