Click for BoxscoreALFRED, NY- Facing windy conditions and the threat of rain, the RIT men's soccer squad took on the Saxons of Alfred University this afternoon.
Both teams played a tough, physical game, and neither side was able to gain an advantage for any length of time. Both teams' defenses were able to limit each other's scoring opportunities throughout much of the contest. The lone goal of the game came from Alfred's Bobby Linaberry, as his shot from the top of the box found its way past a diving Nate Andrews in the 22nd minute. The Rochester native (Greece Arcadia) faced seven shots, making three saves in 90 minutes of work. The Tigers fall to 5-4-1 on the season and will face Ithaca on RIT Field on Saturday, October 4 at Noon.
