ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Sam Hill (Strathroy, Ont./St. Thomas Jr. B) registered a hat-trick and Tyler Euverman (Surrey, B.C./Prince George) recorded 36 saves as the No. 4 Rochester Institute of Technology men's hockey team recorded a 6-2 victory against Williams Saturday night in Frank Ritter Arena.

The win concluded weekend sweep of New England Small College Athletic Conference foes after Friday's 5-1 victory against Amherst.

Mike Bournazakis (Toronto, Ont./Thornhill Rattlers) opened the scoring in the first period at 13:24 and later added an assist in the period becoming the 8th player in Tiger history to record 200 career points. Hill scored his first of the game at 18:04 of the first period from Ian Fazzi (San Jose, CA/Northwood Prep) and David Bagley (Rochester, N.Y./SUNY Geneseo). Roberto Orofiamma (Woodbridge, Ont./Vaughn Vipers) gave RIT a 3-0 lead with just 54 seconds remaining in the first period.

While Hill and Bournazakis were providing the scoring, goaltender Tyler Euverman (Surrey, B.C./Prince George) was thwarting the Williams' chances including a point-blank chance in the slot by Brian Teixeira with four minutes remaining in the first period. Euverman, who finished with 36 saves on the night, came up huge in the second period stopping a Jim Canner breakaway chance at 8:41.

Euverman continued his strong play stopping Jabe Bergeron twice on a short-handed breakaway chance on the doorstep just over a minute later and on Bergeron's second shot, Euverman made a windmill save turning the puck away with his pads. He closed out the second period save showcase with 8:26 remaining stopping Craig Wadman right in front of the goal after the Tiger defense gave the puck away in the RIT zone.

Hill expanded the Tigers lead to 4-0 on assists from Lanner Fayad (Sodus Point, N.Y./St. Louis Sting) and Mike Tarantino (Oakville, Ont./Oakville Blades) 4:04 into the second period.

However, Williams mounted a mild comeback on Justin Blanch's goal at 18:15 of the second and Devon O'Rourke's goal on a great lead pass from Wes Fox 35 seconds into the third period to cut the RIT lead to 4-2.

Jared Conlon (Morristown, N.J./Trinity Pawling) halted the Williams' charge 2:26 into the third period from Darren Doherty (Duoro, Ont./Cobourg Cougars). Hill closed out the hat-trick from Ryan Fairbarn (Innisfil, Ont./Georgetown Raiders) and Orofiamma at 9:48.

RIT continues its eight-game homestand on Jan. 10-11 against the USA Under-18 National team with both face-offs at 7 p.m.
