BUFFALO, N.Y. - Rick Anthony (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) scored a pair of goals and Frank Cutaiar (Churchville, N.Y./McQuaid)added a goal and an assist to give the Rochester Institute of Technology men's soccer team its first road win this season with a 4-1 decision at Buffalo State Wednesday afternoon.
RIT's Michael Lawson (Wall, N.J./Wall) put the Tigers on the board 16:07 into the first half from Dan Beca (Canandaigua, N.Y./Candandaigua Academy). Cutaiar added to the lead with his unassisted goal at 39:35 to give RIT a 2-0 halftime advantage.
The Tigers outshot Buffalo State 8-4 in the first half and piled on the strikes in the second half 10-3 to close out the contest with an 18-7 advantage.
Anthony scored his first of the game from Cutaiar at 62:50 to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead. The Bengals' Tom Huebsch broke RIT goalkeeper Brian Lenzo's shutout with his unasssisted marker at 77:10. Lenzo (Greece, N.Y./Greece Athena) went the distance allowing one goal and recorded two saves.
Anthony closed out the scoring with his second goal on a penalty-kick goal at 88:40.
RIT resumes Empire 8 action in their next contest hosting Alfred on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m.
