Rochester, N.Y.- In a great all around effort by the entire team, the Rochester Institute of Technology women's soccer team dominated Alfred University 4-0 in Empire 8 action Saturday afternoon.

RIT jumped out in front just 3:52 into the match when senior forward Melanie Lowe (Kingston, Jamaica/Northfield Mount Hermon)'s (Kingston, Jamaica) shot deflected off a Saxons' defender and found the right side of the net on a pass from Gretchen Thor (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford-Sutherland) (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland).

Junior tri-captain Nicole Paga (Pittsburgh, PA/Brashear) (Pittsburgh, Pa.) chipped in a goal and an assist as part of a 34 shot onslaught by the Tigers.

The Saxons were held to just three shots due to stellar RIT defense and a relentless offense. Alfred didn't cross the midfield line for 25 minutes after winning the initial possession on the kickoff. Junior goalie Christie Brewer (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Burnt Hills) (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Burnt Hills) and freshman Kristin Domdey (Chicago, IL/Morton West) (Berwyn, Ill.) combined for the shutout. The win was Brewer's first of the year.

The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday, September 17th, when they host Hamilton at 4 p.m.
