Potsdam, N.Y. - Senior Jonathan Banz scored two second-half goals and classmate Tedd Jagusztyn added a goal and an assist as the Clarkson University men's soccer team picked up their first victory of the season with a 4-3 victory against RIT Saturday afternoon at Clarkson Field.

The Golden Knights (1-4) scored their first goal of the game at the 24:51 mark of the first half when freshman Dan Fitzpatrick knocked in his first collegiate goal on a cross from sophomore Dan Fellegara (Fairport, NY), tying the game at 1-1.

Banz scored his first goal of the game, and third of the season, at the 50:25 mark in the second half on a pass from senior Collin Fingon.

Jagusztyn gave the Knights a two-goal advantage midway through the second half when he headed a crossing pass from senior Matt Fox.

Clarkson held a 3-1 advantage until 82:53 of the second half, when Trae Lower scored his second goal of the game, and fifth of the season, on a back-kick at the six-yard box. However, the Golden Knights returned to a two-goal lead when Banz scored his fourth goal of the season just 33 seconds later.

Nate Andrews and Brian Lenzo combined to make three saves for the Tigers (1-3-1).

The Tigers close out their four-game road trip at Hobart on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m., before returning home to host Utica College on Saturday at RIT Field beginning at 1 p.m.
