Stanton Tallies 23 Points to Lead RIT Men's Hoops to Victory Over Hobart

ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Rochester Institute of Technology men’s basketball team remains unbeaten after a 58-56 victory over Hobart.

The two teams were tied at 27-27 at the half, but Hobart took a 15-point lead over RIT with just over ten minutes left in regulation. The young Tiger squad battled back going on a 12-0 run led by co-captain Mike Stanton (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) who closed out the night netting 23 points and grabbing six rebounds.

Freshman Fran Snyder (Buffalo, N.Y.) gave the Tigers the go-ahead bucket at 1:33 from the charity stripe. Snyder added 10 points and four rebounds for the Tigers.

The Statesmen were led by David Herron (Schenectady, N.Y.) with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while teammates Marques Rhodes (Albany, N.Y.) and Joe Corbett (Philadelphia, Pa.) followed up with 11 and 10 points. Corbett just returned to the Hobart lineup after sustaining a knee injury the first day of practice.

The Tigers return to action when the travel to the University of Rochester on December 11 at 8 p.m.
