Nazareth College defeats RIT in 3-0 victory at Wittenberg Tourney

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO - the Rochester Institute of Technology volleyball team had the opportunity to avenge its Empire 8 loss to Nazerath in the second round of the Wittenberg Tournament, but the Tigers fell 3-0 (23-30, 19-23, 14-30).

Despite Nazareth's No. 23 national ranking, RIT continued to give their all, playing phenomenal ball for their three games. Unfortunately, Nazareth's relentless offense gave the Tigers few opportunities to advance.

In the third game, Missy Groginski (Brewerton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) (Brewerton, NY) tallied three consecutive service aces and finished the match with 15 digs. Chris Anabel (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) (Apalachia, NY) contributed eight kills and 21 digs. The Tigers will continue on to play Wittenberg University and Thomas More on Saturday 12.
