In 1958, Marty Smith won seven of the team’s nine contests. The pitcher and outfielder averaged 12.4 strikeouts on the mound during his career, posing 15 wins. In his senior season he struck out 99 opponents and hit .440 at the plate, leading the team with 22 hits.
