Women's Soccer

As a sophomore Sandy (Southworth) Jackson played on the first RIT women’s soccer team. In the initial varsity game on Sept. 16, 1982 versus Houghton, Sandy scored RIT’s first goal at the one-minute mark. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. When the Livonia, N.Y. native ended her career, she had eight school records, including most goals, assists and points in a season and career. Sandy remains second in career points with 70, on 29 goals and 12 assists. Over three years, she played in 45 games. Her best two games came in 1983 with eight points vs. Roberts Wesleyan and three goals against Canisius. In 1984 RIT competed in the NYSAIAW Tournament where Sandy was named to the All-Tournament Team. She was also RIT Athlete of the Week four times during her career.
