Chris Palmer spent three tremendous years in a Tiger hockey uniform. From 1987 to 1990 he was one of the most prolific scorers in the nation, tallying 174 career points on 89 goals and 85 assists. He was a second team All-American selection in 1990 and sits 14th on RIT’s career scoring list. In his second season he led RIT to the NCAA Division III title game, losing to Wisconsin-Stevens Point. That year he led the team in scoring with 66 points on 36 goals and 30 assists as RIT went 28-8-2. Palmer signed a professional contract with the New Jersey Devils and was assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate in Utica. He went on to play extensively in Europe, including the Hockey Club Fassa in Italy, leading the league in scoring. His team won the Italian Championship in 1996. He went on to play and coach for Utica in the UHL. Chris also was a member of the Canadian Olympic Team.
