Men's Basketball

In the late 1950's, RIT basketball was flourishing, due in part to the addition of forward Ron Milko. A three-year varsity starter, the native of Norwalk, Conn., scored 727 points, averaging 15.5 per contest. The team compiled a three-year record of 44-18. Milko played at a time when freshmen were not eligible to play varsity. In his rookie campaign, he captained the team and set marks with 42 points in a game and a 28.8 season scoring average. Team captain in 1959-60, Milko was a dominating force when the Tigers were hosting the annual RIT Tech Tournament. He set the tourney scoring record with 81 points in three games. He was also a two-time selection on the All-Tournament Team. Milko was a prolific field goal shooter, connecting on 52.1 percent of his career attempts. He also averaged 7.9 rebounds over his three varsity campaigns. Milko also played one season of baseball as an outfielder, but later opted to concentrate on basketball.
